The Wig Spa Canada provides professional wig repair, washing, restoration and customization services for synthetic and human-hair wigs, toppers and hairpieces.

Located in St. Albert, Alberta, I welcome local clients from St. Albert, Edmonton and surrounding communities by appointment. Mail-in wig services are also available across Canada.

With more than 25 years of hairdressing experience and specialized training in wig customization and repair, I approach every piece carefully. My goal is to help make your wig feel more comfortable, secure, natural and wearable again whenever possible.

Wig Washing & Treatment Prices

Every wig is assessed according to its fibre, length, density and condition. The prices below are starting prices for routine care. Wigs with heavy buildup, matting, tangling or fibre damage may require additional time and treatment.

Synthetic Wig Wash & Refresh - Starting at $30

Suitable for both heat-safe and non-heat-safe synthetic wigs.

This service may include:

• Professional cleansing

• Fibre-appropriate conditioning

• Gentle detangling

• Refreshing the wig’s existing style

• Air-drying and finishing

The products and styling methods used will be selected according to whether the wig is heat-safe.

Human-Hair Wig Wash & Deep Treatment - Starting at $40

A professional wash and conditioning treatment for human-hair wigs, toppers and hairpieces.

This service may include:

• Professional cleansing

• Deep conditioning treatment

• Gentle detangling

• Moisture and softness support

• Refreshing and finishing the existing style

Additional styling, colour correction or repair work is quoted separately.

Extra-TLC Wig Refresh - Starting at $45

This service is intended for wigs that need more than a routine wash and refresh.

Your wig may require Extra-TLC care if it has:

• Heavy product buildup or odours

• Significant tangling or matting

• Dry, stiff or difficult-to-manage fibres

• Been stored for an extended period

• Not been washed for a long time

• A need for multiple washes or treatments

• Additional detangling or restoration work

The final price will depend on the wig’s fibre, length, density and condition. I will let you know if additional care is recommended before completing work beyond the standard service.

Please note that washing and treatment can improve the feel, movement and manageability of many wigs, but they cannot reverse every type of fibre damage. Repairs, cutting, colouring and alterations are priced separately.

Wig Repair and Fit Adjustments

A wig that feels loose, uncomfortable or insecure may benefit from a cap or fit adjustment.

Services may include:

• Cap resizing and making wigs smaller

• Tightening stretched or loose caps

• Elastic band replacement or reinforcement

• Drawstring installation or adjustment

• Wig-band installation

• Clip and comb replacement

• Securing loose wefts

• Repairing or reinforcing damaged cap areas

• Ear-tab adjustments

• Velcro attachment options for clients who cannot comfortably wear clips

• Alternative grip solutions for sensitive scalps, sore spots or areas of hair loss

Every fit adjustment is based on the construction and condition of the individual wig.

Silicone Wig-Grip Options

Silicone can be added to selected areas inside a wig to provide additional grip and security.

Options may include:

• Silicone along the front hairline

• Silicone at the ear tabs or sides

• Silicone at the nape

• Custom silicone placement based on the wearer’s comfort and needs

Silicone may be helpful for clients who want added security without relying entirely on combs, clips or adhesive. Not every cap is suitable for every silicone application, so the wig must be assessed first.

Drawstring Installation

A drawstring can be added to many wigs to create a more adjustable and secure fit at the nape.

This option may be helpful when:

• The wig feels loose at the back

• The cap rides upward

• Additional adjustability is needed

• Standard adjustment straps do not provide enough security

Drawstring installation depends on the construction and condition of the wig.

Lace, Hairline and Scalp Services

Small changes to the lace, knots, part or hairline can make a noticeable difference in how natural a wig looks.

Photos and measurements may be requested before cutting. Once a wig has been cut or customized, the work is final.

Wig-to-Topper Conversions

A full wig may sometimes be converted into a topper or partial hairpiece.

Wig-to-topper conversions may include:

• Removing unneeded sections of the wig cap

• Reshaping the base

• Adding clips, Velcro or alternative attachment methods

Synthetic and human hair require different products and techniques. Every piece is treated according to its fibre, condition and construction.

Although many wigs can be noticeably improved, washing and restoration cannot reverse every type of fibre damage.

Adding Hair and Ventilating

Hair may be added to selected areas when a wig or topper has become thin, sparse or uneven.

Services may include:

• Hand ventilating

• Filling sparse parts

• Adding hair around a thinning hairline

• Reinforcing fragile or worn areas

Before mailing your piece, please send:

• Clear photos of the front, back and inside cap

• Close-up photos of the damaged or concerning area

• A short description of what you would like changed

After reviewing the information, I can provide initial recommendations and explain the next step. Final pricing may require an in-person assessment of the wig.

Do you repair wigs purchased from another company?

Yes. I can assess wigs and toppers purchased from other companies. Please send photos or arrange an appointment so I can see what you are working with.

Can synthetic wigs be repaired?

Many synthetic wigs can be adjusted, repaired or refreshed. Possible services include professional washing, detangling, restyling, lace repair, fit adjustments, adding hair and reshaping.

The results depend on the age and condition of the fibres.

Do you professionally wash wigs?

Yes. Professional washing and restyling services are available for synthetic and human-hair wigs, toppers and hairpieces.

Can you make my wig fit more securely?

Depending on the cap construction, possible options may include silicone, a drawstring, a wig band, cap resizing, ear-tab adjustments, Velcro or other grip alternatives.

Can you turn a wig into a topper?

Some wigs can be converted into toppers. The cap construction, hair placement, size and condition must be assessed before the conversion can be confirmed.

Can you convert a wig into a headband wig?

Yes, many wigs can be converted into headband wigs or ponytail headband wigs. Photos are required to determine whether your wig is a suitable candidate.

Can I mail my wig to you?

Yes. Mail-in wig repair, washing and customization services are available across Canada. Please contact me with photos before mailing your piece.

How long do wig repairs take?

Turnaround depends on the complexity of the work. Detailed repair and restoration projects may require up to six weeks. An estimated timeline will be provided after assessment.

Can every damaged wig be repaired?

Unfortunately, not every wig can be safely or cost-effectively repaired. I will give you an honest assessment and explain the available options before accepting the project.
